Antique 14K Gold Horace Welch Floating Opal Pendant and Necklace Beautiful

  

This is a beautiful 14k floating opal pendant designed by Horace Welch. Original inventor of the Floating Opal. Art Nouveau cap is marked 14K Pats Pend dating it to 1929 - 1931. The opal pendant measures 1 1/8 including the bale.

The bale is new and stamped 14K GF (gold filled). The box chain is 14k gold over sterling and is new as wellstamped 925 Italy and measures 18 long. Opals are floating in glycerin and they shine when hit by light. This is a beautiful piece of jewelry history and will make a lovely addition to your fine jewelry collection. This opal pendant belonged to my Mother and she handed it down to me many years ago, so it's been in the family since the early 1930's.
